Buffer bed is a shock-absorbing protection device used for conveyor belts at material loading and unloading points. It absorbs impact force through high elastic materials, reduces material splashing and scattering, lowers the risk of conveyor belt wear and tear, extends equipment service life, and improves conveyor stability.

Impact absorption

The core component of the buffer bed is the buffer strip, and its highly elastic special rubber layer can effectively absorb the impact force when materials fall, reducing the direct impact on the conveyor belt. For example, in a mining scene, when ore falls from a high place, a buffer bed can disperse the impact force and prevent the conveyor belt from tearing due to excessive local force.

Uniform force

The buffer strip and conveyor belt adopt a surface contact design, replacing the traditional line contact of buffer rollers, making the force on the conveyor belt more uniform at the discharge port. This reduces daily repair and maintenance costs, while preventing longitudinal belt tearing caused by roller breakage or detachment.

Prevent material splashing and leakage

The ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) of the buffer bed has a smooth surface and low friction coefficient, which can reduce material splashing and leakage during transportation. For example, in the transportation of powdered or fine particle materials such as cement and grain, a buffer bed can effectively prevent material overflow and improve the working environment.

Wear resistant and self-lubricating

UHMW-PE material has extremely high wear resistance and self-lubricating properties, with wear resistance four times that of nylon-66, nine times that of HDPE and HPVC, and even better than stainless steel. Meanwhile, its friction coefficient is as low as 0.05-0.11, comparable to polytetrafluoroethylene, ensuring smooth operation of the conveyor belt.
